We don't store your code and we don't sell your data. Telemetry helps us improve Zed, but it's minimal, anonymous, and always yours to turn off.
We don’t want your data. We want to build a great editor. Zed only collects what’s needed to fix bugs and improve the experience, and only if you say yes. No tracking, no tricks. Just software that respects you.

Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, and xAI all have contractual zero-retention agreements with Zed — your queries are discarded after processing, never used for training.
