Introducing Zed for Business

Today we're launching Zed for Business. Teams like Mercury and Ramp are already using it to roll out Zed across their organizations, and we're excited to share this with all Zed users.

Zed for Business is generally available at $30 per seat, per month. If you've wanted to use Zed at work but couldn't get it approved, we're here to help you get unblocked.

Enforce privacy controls org-wide

Zed already doesn't store prompts or train on your code, regardless of your plan, unless you explicitly share with us or opt in to training. But we hear from users that their security teams need guarantees that no engineer on the team can accidentally opt in to something they shouldn't.

Zed for Business gives you that guarantee. Prompt sharing and Edit Prediction training are off by default at the org level, and individual engineers can't override those settings.

Control what your team uses

Administrators can disable Zed-hosted models, Edit Predictions, and collaboration features org-wide. If a feature isn't approved for your environment, you can turn it off for everyone, instead of relying on individual engineers to abide by your org's policies. For teams using Zed-hosted models, administrators can set global token spend limits to cap usage.

Bring your own keys or use ours

Business plans don't include bundled AI credits. We heard from many beta customers that have existing AI contracts or preferred vendors, and don't want to pay for credits they wouldn't use. Many of our competitors require using their hosted AI, but we're happy to let you use AI however it makes the most financial sense for your business.

If your team wants Zed-hosted AI, it's billed at provider cost plus 10%, and includes ZDR agreements with our AI providers plus higher rate limits than most teams get from direct contracts.

If your organization already has contracts with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, or AWS, bring your own keys and keep that spend with your existing vendors, at no extra charge.

What's not included yet

If your company requires SSO or SOC 2 before approving new tools, this release won't unblock you. We're working on SAML/OIDC, SCIM, and SOC 2 certification now. Reach out and we'll keep you posted as these ship.
